Wenn man sein Geld nur <em>loswerden<\/em> will, dann wird es reichen die Geldb\u00f6rse zu \u00f6ffnen und zu \u201einvestieren\u201c. Will man sein Kapital hingegen sinnvoll <em>einsetzen<\/em>, dann wird das nicht ausreichend sein (hier k\u00f6nnte man aber immer noch \u00fcber Spenden an karitative Organisationen nachdenken).<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Ein Angel Investor legt sein Geld nicht blo\u00df passiv an: Er unterst\u00fctzt vielmehr aktiv die Startups in seinem Portfolios bei ihrer Entwicklung. Ein Business Angel ist also Mitgr\u00fcnder, Investor und Berater in einer Person.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Die wichtige Rolle als erfahrene Vertrauensperson wird h\u00e4ufig untersch\u00e4tzt. Unternehmensgr\u00fcnder sind nicht selten unter 30 Jahre alt und haben zumeist nur sehr wenige Jahre aktive Berufserfahrung gesammelt. Wie man sich in den unterschiedlichsten Situationen konkret verhalten sollte, das lehrt in erster Linie einmal die Erfahrung. Es muss nicht immer die eigene Erfahrung (\u201elearning by doing\u201c) sein \u2013 man muss nicht alle Fehler selbst machen. Im Investment-Kontext k\u00f6nnte dies schnell ziemlich teuer werden.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Business Angels k\u00f6nnen hier neben gezielten Trainings, wo sie von erfahreneren Angels lernen, auch Anleihen in der Wissenschaft nehmen. Hier findet man K\u00f6pfe die sich den ganzen Tag und oft auch ihre ganze Karriere lang mit der systematischen Sammlung relevanter Erfahrungen besch\u00e4ftigen und diese auf verwertbare Erkenntnisse hin untersuchen. Ja, wenn er pl\u00f6tzlich Millionen spart, ist der viel verschrieene Elfenbeinturm der Wissenschaft dann unglaublich schnell wieder rehabilitiert. Der bekannte Spruch \u201eNichts ist so praktisch wie eine gute Theorie\u201c (Kurt Lewin) hat schon seine Berechtigung.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Die umgekehrte Richtung stimmt aber ebenso: Gute Forschung beginnt \u00fcberhaupt erst einmal mit der Formulierung guter Forschungsfragen, und dabei spielen Impulse aus der Praxis eine gro\u00dfe Rolle. Das Verh\u00e4ltnis zwischen Praxis und Wissenschaft ist also wirklich ein st\u00e4ndiges Zusammenwirken und gegenseitiges Befruchten in beide Richtungen. Das Business Angel Institute versucht diese Schnittstelle aktiv zu bilden und ist daher f\u00fcr Anfragen und Ideen aus beiderlei Richtung offen.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Die Wissenschaft besch\u00e4ftigt sich ganz konkret mit relevanten Themen f\u00fcr Business Angels. So arbeitet etwa <a href=\"https:\/\/fodok.jku.at\/fodok\/person.xsql?PER_ID=21150\">Prof. Matthias Fink<\/a> in einem Forschungsprojekt, in dem es um die Arten und die Rolle von Vertrauen in den relevanten Prozessen geht. Auch unter den Business Angels selbst gibt es Beispiele f\u00fcr das Zusammenspiel zwischen Wissenschaft und Praxis: So hat der erfolgreiche Angel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arboricon.com\/team\/arboricon-team\/josef-baumgartner.html\">Dr. Josef Baumgartner<\/a> an seiner urspr\u00fcnglichen Alma Mater promoviert \u2013 und zwar mehr als 30 Jahre nach seiner Sponsion, um viele Erfahrungen reicher und gerade dadurch auch wieder motiviert. Dazwischen lag unter anderem die praxisorientierte Zertifizierung zum <a href=\"https:\/\/www.incite.at\/ausbildung\/de\/zertifizierungen\/zertifizierung-cmc\/\">CMC (Certified Management Consultant)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Unser Fazit: Wer die Nase vorne haben will und unter den Besten bestehen m\u00f6chte, der muss sich zwangsl\u00e4ufig fortbilden. Das Rezept f\u00fcr nachhaltigen Erfolg im Angel Investment ist durchaus mit einem sch\u00f6nen Konzert vergleichbar \u2013 ein Orchester (<em>Investoren<\/em>) braucht gute Instrumente (<em>Know-how<\/em>), muss wissen wie man auf diesen ein guten St\u00fcck (<em>Startup<\/em>) spielt und das ganze von einem Saal mit beeindruckender Akustik (<em>\u00d6kosystem<\/em>) unterst\u00fctzt. Es muss nat\u00fcrlich nicht jeder gleich promovieren. Aber man sollte sich st\u00e4ndig weiterentwickelnden und wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse gezielt verfolgen.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><em>Dr. Herwig Rollett (Pr\u00e4sident, Business Angel Institute)<br \/>\nMag.
