We help remove barriers for inexperienced angels, improve skills and approaches for experienced angel investors, and offer investing know-how for the service industry (e.g. lawyers, tax advisors, consultants and coaches, developers, private bankers). The Institute organizes workshops, conducts a comprehensive training program, which also prepares participants for the Certified Business Angel (CBA) exam, and supports them through their alumni association, the CBA Circle.
Candidates who have passed a written test and an oral hearing with our independent ISO-certified examination partner will receive the right to hold the CBA. As CBAs, they will be expected to abide by the CBA Code of Ethics.
The ecosystem in Europe needs well-founded scientific research and work to build a base of knowledge. A combination of practice and science is essential to connect, process, and achieve new progress. We support this by working with universities and their students sharing our knowledge through lectures, seminars, and panel discussions.
Our courses are designed for investors, start-ups, founders, and any persons interested in angel investing and deliver specific best practices as well as underlying principles and a broad spectrum of perspectives. Even experienced angels will significantly expand their horizons and hone their methods, while newcomers gain a thorough understanding of the whole process. Representatives of organizations dealing with early-stage investment issues and of the surrounding service industry have also found our training program useful in the past.
Founded in 2012, we are financed purely through the income of our courses and additionally receiving donations from our hosting company Venionaire Capital. Our goal is to establish a donation account, where 30% of the made donations, will be added and subsidized by the government.
The Business Angel Institute is set up as an independent non-profit initiative, hosted and initiated by Venionaire Capital.
Our next step, for more transparency, is to turn our non-profit initiative into a non-profit foundation. Our goal is to establish a sub-foundation of education and innovation under the wings of the federal foundation of education and innovation. At the moment we are right in the process of certification and will hopefully soon announce our news of becoming a foundation.
In this context, we are also working on a donation account and obtaining the donation seal so that your donations are tax-deductible.
